The Ultimate Salad

When it comes to Salad, I urge you to be experimental. Remember a green salad with some lettuce and a tomato is not a complete meal. Below is a guide to creating an amazing salad.

Base:

  • Spinach

  • Iceberg

  • Rocket

  • Kale

  • Shaved Brussels or broccoli

Complex Carbohydrate:

  • Lentils

  • Quinoa

  • Brown rice

  • Baked sweet potato

  • Beans

Fat:

  • Avocado

  • Olive oil

  • Nuts and seeds (walnut, almond, pistachio, flax, hemp, pine nut, sunflower, pumpkin)

  • Olives

  • Cheese (Parmesan, halloumi)

Protein:

  • Chicken

  • Chickpeas

  • Egg

  • Tofu/Tempe

  • Beef

  • Prosciutto

  • Beans

  • Lentils

Dressing:

  • Olive oil, lemon or Apple cider Vinegar, salt & pepper

  • Optional add: Mustard, Tahini, Garlic

Other Fun Additions:

  • Fruit (strawberry, mango, cranberry, raisins, pear, apple)

  • Literally any vegetables you like: Radish, cucumber, carrot.. make it colourful!

  • Gut loving: Sauerkraut, pickled veg, cappers, kimchi.
